Measuring range
Our magnetostrictive level sensor has the measuring range of 0.3 meters to 25 meters.
If the length of the magnetostrictive sensor is 0.3m to 4m, you can choose our rigid magnetostrictive level sensor.
If the magnetostrictive sensor length exceeds 4 meters, you can choose the flexible magnetostrictive level sensor.

Magnetostrictive level transmitter Working principle
The magnetostrictive level sensor is designed based on the principle of magnetostriction.
Detection principle:
Send an “inquiry” pulse in each detection cycle,
The pulse is sent down from the top of the waveguide line,
Physical expansion and contraction (twisting force) occurs at the magnetization point of the waveguide line,
An echo is formed, which propagates upward along the waveguide line.
The time from sending the “inquiry” pulse to receiving the “return” wave is an accurate detection of the length.

Magnetostrictive level transmitter are used for liquid level measurement and control of various liquid tanks such as petroleum, chemical raw material storage, industrial processes, biochemistry, medicine, food and beverage, tank farm management, and underground storage of gas stations.

Flexible magnetostrictive level sensor Installation

1. Straighten the magnetostrictive sensor
First, straighten the flexible magnetostrictive level sensor on the top of the tank to prevent bending.

2. Component assembly
The installation sequence is to put the lock nut, adjusting nut, sealing rubber ring, flange, oil float, water float, and weight drop on the flexible magnetostrictive sensor in sequence on the top of the tank, and finally fix the tail, and the flexible magnetostrictive level sensor assembly is completed.

3. Degaussing operation
Demagnetize the flexible magnetostrictive level sensor before installation,
Move the oil float from the bottom of the flexible magnetostrictive level sensor to the top,
Then move the oil float from the top of the flexible magnetostrictive sensor to the bottom.
This completes the degaussing operation.

4. Hoisting
Put the flexible magnetostrictive level sensor’s weight drop and floats into the tank from the mounting hole.

Put the rubber ring into the groove of the mounting flange and tighten the adjusting nut,
And fix it with a lock nut, and then fix the lock nut in place.

XT-200 magnetostrictive probe widely installed in petrol stations, Skid-mounted station.

Magnetostrictive level sensor can accurately measure the fuel level, water level and temperature of tank, and transmit data real time.

It consists of floater kits, measuring rod and 316L protection tube, probe head and communication cable.

Magnetostrictive level sensor installation in Gas Station
1.The location of the installation hole should be far away from the equipment that is easy to impact such as the submersible pump
2.The diameter of the mounting hole should be greater than 80mm, and the best diameter recommended by the gas station is 100mm (DN100)
3.If the horizontal oil tank cannot be welded with a special mounting hole, the original DN100 manual oil measuring hole can be used.

Magnetostrictive level sensor wiring and installation:
1. Use RVVP4×0.5 shielded cable, the cable length is not more than 1200m.
2. No joints are allowed in the cable, and the entire cable must be used to connect to the explosion-proof junction box.
Each oil tank requires a separate communication cable,
For example, 4 oil tanks require 4 communication cables to be routed to the control room.
3. Cables must be installed with G1/2″ (4 inches) galvanized steel pipes in hazardous areas;
there should be G1/2″ threads at the explosion-proof junction box.
Leave a steel pipe with a length of 100mm and a G1/2″ thread at the wall of the manhole.
4. The shielding wire of the cable is grounded in the explosion-proof box, and the grounding resistance should not be greater than 10Ω.
5. The connection on site must be waterproof.
